Since 1929, our story has been rooted in craftsmanship, dedication, and family tradition.

What began as The Shade Shop at the corner of Haskell and McKinney in Dallas, Texas, has grown into what is now Clanton's Quality Awning Co.. By 1936, the Clanton name became a permanent part of the business, establishing a reputation for quality that still defines us today.

For decades, a member of the Clanton family helped guide the company’s direction. In 1971, CBF Industries became part of that journey, followed by a new chapter in 1975 when Calvin and Clara Walker took ownership. Their leadership carried the company forward for nearly 30 years, building on the foundation of quality and service.

In 2002, Curt Richmond acquired the business, continuing its legacy with the same commitment to craftsmanship and customer care. Today, the Walker family remains actively involved in daily operations—ensuring that the values this company was built on are still at the heart of everything we do.

Our manufacturing facility, originally built by the Walker family in 1981, marked a major milestone in our growth. While we’ve expanded since then and are now located at 1251 Exchange Dr Richardson, TX 75081, our dedication to hands-on craftsmanship has never changed.
