It all started in 1929 when Mr. R.W. Clanton founded what we now know as Clanton's Quality Awning Co.. This journey began under the name "The Shade Shop" at the bustling corner of Haskell and McKinney in Dallas, Texas. Over the years, the name evolved, and in 1936, it settled as "Clanton's Quality Awning Co." A Clanton family member was the driving force behind the scenes until 1971 when CBF Industries entered the picture.
In May of 1975, the reins of this remarkable business were handed to the capable hands of Calvin and Clara Walker, who skillfully ran it until 2002. Then, Curt Richmond stepped in, bringing a wealth of expertise to complement his other business ventures. To this day, the Walker family remains actively involved in our day-to-day operations.
Our manufacturing hub at 4612 South Buckner Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75227, stands as a testament to our commitment. It was constructed by the Walkers in 1981, and in March 1982, we proudly moved in. We've grown since the construction of that building in 1982, and we're now located at 1251 Exchange Dr Richardson, TX 75081. We extend a warm invitation to come and witness the time-honored craftsmanship that goes into our awnings and canvas products. We're keeping the tradition alive!

We're proud members of the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), previously known as the Canvas Products Association International (CPAI), and the Southwestern Industrial Fabrics Association (SWIFA). Across our remarkable seventy-five-year journey, our work has been adorned with numerous awards.
Throughout the vibrant decades of the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, we clinched an impressive thirty-six first-place awards, not to mention eight second-place prizes and multiple third-place honors. We even had the honor of receiving three Best Overall Awards for our groundbreaking designs and boundless creativity.
Our legacy of excellence continues to this day, as we've recently secured more first-place and third-place awards.
